BIZ invests in battery future!

BIZ Karts has invested in equipment to bring Lithium Battery development in-house. At our London Head Office, we now have the ability to test cells and battery assemblies up to 20kW using the top of the line Chroma 17020 Battery Tester.

Lead Engineer Chris Day explains ‘bringing battery development in-house makes a lot of sense for BIZ. We have spent years trying to work with offerings from battery assemblers, none have been able to meet all of our requirements. The Chroma tester is a great piece of kit. Most testers waste energy when discharging but the Chroma Unit has bidirectional converters so we can feed energy from the batteries back into the factory. It’s a very eco-friendly way of testing.’ He goes on to say ‘In combination with the battery tester we have also added a thermal chamber allowing us to simulate different climates, so we know our batteries are going to work in the harshest of environments’.

BIZ is also welcoming the opportunity to test cells and batteries for external parties and is already working with clients in motorsport applications.
